2018 has finally come to an end and I am quite excited about what 2019 has in store for me. Initially, I had planned not to do a post about how the year was but I changed my mind.

At the beginning of the year I set some goals and like everyone, I had so much zeal to accomplish all of them. As we all know, the year unfolds slowly and you realize later on that you haven’t achieved much of what you set out do. I am glad I achieved most of the stuff on my list, that which I did not manage to do is for 2019.

I am glad to say that I finally got my feature on Glamour Magazine.

For those that have been following my social media, they know that for 10 whole days I was a style diarist for the magazine. I remember being younger and dreaming of that happening. I am glad I put in some work and made it happen for myself. It did some great stuff for my blog as well.

I also grew so much professionally!

The whole of 2019 I got the opportunity to work and an agency and grow in my skills in Public Relations and everything that I studied. To be honest, it was not easy. I made some big mistakes and had to endure quite a lot, but I stuck it out and got some great experience. More than ever, I am excited for a new chapter in my life.

It was long overdue, but I finally got my drivers license!

I will not disclose how many road tests I went for, but all I can say is that God is so good. At some point, I struggled and thought I was not going to do it. Now that I am writing this, I just realized I actually spent a tonne of money doing lessons and tests. LOL

For the longest time I wanted to give back and this year I finally volunteered!

It was not really anything big, but I got a few nice things for some young girls and spent a day with them at an orphanage. Through that experience, I got to understand another side of life and appreciate my own. There is definitely room to do more and I am going to do more.

One of my other goals was to grow my blog and work with brands!

2018 was definitely that year that I grew as a blogger and put more time in creating content and it paid off. I got to work with a couple of brands, even sent out a couple of invoices! There were definitely some proud moments I tell you. I have had a vision for this platform of mine and this year made me realize all of that can be possible.

When I look back, I now realize that I have so much to be thankful for.  It was not an easy year, I had several highs and lows but that all builds character and shows which direction life will take. I achieved a whole lot more and I would need 3 more blog posts to fully tell it all. LOL

What I learnt is that…

To achieve your goals, you constantly have to be accountable about the steps you are taking and how much effort you are putting in. Without that, it is really easy to get distracted.

Speaking of distractions, in this age of social media, it is easy to look at other peoples lives and feel inadequate about yours. Always remember that we have different paths in life, take joy in pride in the fact that you are following your path. Celebrate others in their wins, that won’t take away yours at all.

Good friends are the best companions in life. I have never really had a lot of people that I call friends and I think more than anything, that has allowed me to remain with adequate people in my life that are genuine and know me really well. I am grateful for that.

My partner made me realize something towards the end of the year and it really stuck with me for a while and it made so much sense. The thing is, we as individuals are responsible for our own lives and how they turn out. People only look out for themselves and you have to also look out for yourself. Life without expectations from other people is better.

So always remember, YOU and you only are responsible for your life and how you want it to turn out!

I am so excited for 2019 as I have already written down stuff that I need to achieve and some of it is already underway! I cannot wait to share with you guys once they come to fruition. Watch this space…

Finally, I would like to thank all my readers and followers. Your support means so much to me and 2019 will be yet another year of creating meaningful content!

So Much Love…
